The Global Harmonization Task Force (GHTF) welcomes the August 15, 2009 announcement by the Global Medical Device Nomenclature (GMDN) Agency's new Board of Trustees that the Board is committed to work towards providing "Free Access" to the GMDN to all users around the world. The GHTF reaffirms its intent to work with the GMDN Agency, the Asia Harmonization Working Party and other partners to strengthen the foundations of the Agency and make the GMDN the sole nomenclature system utilized for regulatory purposes for medical devices world-wide.
