Biography

Ms. Pieterson received a Masters Degree in Pharmacology from the University of Toronto, and a Masters in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa.

Since joining the government in 1990, Ms. Pieterson has worked in several operational, policy and management positions within the Therapeutic Products Programme. As Chief of Submission and Information Policy Division within the Bureau of Policy and Coordination for approximately three years, Ms. Pieterson was responsible for coordinating the submission review process and developing associated policies, performance targets, and information management systems.

Ms Pieterson was the Associate Director of the Bureau of Biologics and Radiopharmaceuticals for one and a half years before joining the Medical Devices Bureau as Acting Director in November 1997.
