The second meeting of the Ad Hoc Procedures Group was hosted by Guidant Corporation at their headquarters in Santa Clara, California. The meeting was attended by all 13 members (2 from each founding member and the secretariat (from Canada)) as well as 6 observers from the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Finland and Germany.
Work progressed on the three draft documents relating to GHTF structure, guiding principles and roles and responsibilities and these documents are now ready for consultation with the Study Group Chairs. It is planned that these documents will be posted on the GHTF website by 1 June 2000 and be ready for presentation at the 8th GHTF Conference, to be held in Ottawa, Canada, from 18-22 September 2000.
In its advisory capacity to the Chair, the group also discussed the establishment of a permanent secretariat for the GHTF, endorsed two Study Group 1 documents and one Study Group 4 document as new final documents, and endorsed two Study Group 4 documents as being suitable for public consultation. There was also discussion on the draft programme for the upcoming GHTF Conference.
